Homemade Breadcrumbs and Croutons (WFMW)

I love to make a lot of homemade bread… Especially sourdough bread. In fact, I rarely buy any bread at the store or at a bakery.

The only problem is that we usually have trouble eating a whole batch of bread before it starts to go stale… And, I’m not a fan of bread from the freezer. You can tell me that it will taste the same, but I don’t believe it. I can taste the difference

My Favorite Spices + A Giveaway! (WFMW)

For this week’s Works for Me Wednesday post, I thought I’d share one of my best secrets for great tasting foods… Herbs and spices!

That may seem a bit obvious, but I’m often surprised by how little some of my friends and family use herbs and spices in their cooking. Even when they do use a dried herb or a spice to flavor their food, they use so little of it that it hardly makes a difference (granted, there are some flavors where a little goes a long way, and I realize that!).

Perfectly Drizzled Chocolate (WFMW)

Valentine’s Day is less than two weeks away… Are you ready?

My husband and I don’t usually go all out with Valentine’s Day… It’s just not our thing. There are no diamonds or extravagant gifts (though I wouldn’t be entirely opposed to that). We usually make a point to get each other a card and (when we remember) a small gift. Instead, we usually make a special dinner together (which is rare) and make some chocolate covered strawberries.

Game Day Guacamole (WFMW)

There’s a pretty big football game coming up next weekend. The Super Bowl… You may have heard of it?

So, this week I thought I’d share my quick and easy go-to recipe for guacamole. No game day party is complete without some chips and guac, right?

I’ve mentioned before that my husband and I are big fans of Chipotle Mexican Grill. We especially love their guacamole, so I’ve been on a quest to come up with a recipe that rivals theirs. Every time I make guacamole at home, my hubby determines whether it is “Chipotle good” or not… And, I am happy to announce that this recipe has gained his approval.
