I don’t have a new recipe for you today… I have a pretty good reason, though! I was busy last week working on a graduation cake and cookies. I ended up putting most of my kitchen energy (what kitchen energy I actually have these days!) into the cake and cookies.
This cake may look vaguely familiar if you remember the graduation cake that I did a few years ago… I made graduation caps and diplomas to decorate the cake again. To personalize the cake for the graduate, though, I used some of the design from the school’s mascot (a knight riding on a horse) – both a shield with the school’s coat of arms and a hand painted knight cookie on the top of the cake.
I was pleased with how the cake turned out… And, I think everyone at the graduation party was pleased, as well. So, today I thought I’d show you a few cake pictures while I get back in the kitchen and work on some new recipes!
Of course, there were lots of extra cookies, too! If you want to know more about the cookies… I’ll be sharing some tips for how to do the detailed piping later this week. Stay tuned!
