The word on the street is that a hurricane is headed for the East coast… Just a few days after an earthquake! It’s crazy out there!
So, if you’re rained in this weekend, why not spend some time in the kitchen? Here are a few recipes to get you started…
- I cannot wait to make these Twice Baked Cheese and Chive Potatoes from The Sophisticated Gourmet. I’m pretty sure we’ll be having these for dinner (with a green salad, of course) in the very near future.
- If you are at all like me, you will just swoon over this Green Tomato and Onion Pickles Video from Smith Bites. Seriously, I love everything about it. And, I am suddenly craving some pickles.
- It seemed like the tomatoes in our garden would never ripen this summer. But, they have. And, we also have gotten a lovely selection of tomatoes from our CSA in the last few weeks. I am pretty sure they will be put to good use in this Tomato Cobbler from Honey & Jam.
- Since I will still have plenty of tomatoes left over after making cobbler, I am putting this Tomato Soup with a Twist from Bon Appetit Hon on my menu next week. Can you believe I have never made soup with roasted tomatoes before? It’s about time that I start!
Great picks! Happy Friday!
thanks so much for including me in this week’s recap Jen – happy weekend!
I’m definitely using the hurricane weather as an excuse to spend some quality time in the kitchen. Hope everyone stays safe!
