Happy 4th of July!
To celebrate, I thought I’d share a few cookies that I made for our Independence Day celebration… These are the first cookies I’ve done in a long time, and it felt great to have a piping bag full (really only about 1/2 full) of royal icing in my hands!
I hadn’t planned on decorating cookies since my energy runs out a lot more quickly than it used to… But, after seeing lots of beautiful 4th of July cookies from a few of my favorite bakers (like Bridget and Callye!), I couldn’t help myself… I just had to make some cookies of my own!
I suppose that piping is a lot like riding a bike… But, when I picked up the piping bag for the first time in months, I was definitely feeling a bit wobbly! These cookies are certainly not my best, but I had a great time decorating them. And, by the time I was done, I felt like I was getting back into my cookie groove again. I think that means you’ll be seeing more decorated cookies soon!
