The week started off with us moving the entire contents of our upstairs down into our living room and garage in preparation for carpet installation on Tuesday… Tuesday came and went, and there was no carpet. The carpet came on Wednesday instead. There were a few mishaps along the way, but by the end of the day on Wednesday, we had carpet. That’s when the fun began.
We’re still in the process of getting back to “normal.” Instead of just plopping everything down where it used to be, we’re going through and re-organizing as we put things away… Talk about spring cleaning!
While they were installing our carpet (which turns out to be a pretty noisy process… I did not realize that before), I took the time to get caught up on my RSS reader. It was a nice break from all of the chaos going on around me. As always, it was hard to choose just a few. Here are a few of my favorites from the week…
- One glimpse at this Pizza Dip from Closet Cooking and I knew that I just have to try it! Pizza is one of my favorite foods, and I make it almost every week. This weekend, I’m thinking I’ll whip up a batch of this dip along with some nice crusty bread instead.
- I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with cheesecake… I love to bake it, and I especially love to eat it… But, I hate the way mine always turns out a bit deformed. I’m thinking that I may have some better luck with these No Bake Mini Nutella Cheesecakes from Bell’alimento!
- I’m always looking for new vegetarian meal ideas… So, I was thrilled to stumble across this Swiss Chard, Sweet Potato, and Feta Tart from Tracey’s Culinary Adventures. The crust is made with teff flour, too, an ingredient I’ve been wanting to try for a while.
- Lately I have a thing for cardamom… I just can’t get enough of it. Imagine my delight when I saw these Spicy Dark Chocolate Coffee Cupcakes with Cardamom Buttercream from Sugarcrafter! I am speechless.
I love getting new carpet; everything just smells so new. :-) Excited to hear about your new look! And thanks for featuring my cupcakes – I hope you try them! :-)
New carpet is awesome, except for the carpet fuzzies that you swear you just vacuumed but keep mulitiplying!
Thanks for linking to my tart Jen! If you want, I’ll send you some of my teff flour. I didn’t buy a huge bag, but it’s more than I’ll be able to use in a reasonable time frame. Let me know, and I’ll stick some in the mail for you :)
Glad the carpet got installed, hoping Yellow Dog is enjoying it!
