The Winner Is…

The Winner Is…

I know I’ve been MIA for a few days, and I must apologize.  I’m having one of those “When it rains, it pours…” kind of weeks.  Our doggy had knee surgery last week and, though she is doing well, needs a lot of attention and hasn’t been sleeping well.  So, as a result, we haven’t been sleeping well, either.

On top of all of that, we discovered mice in the house last week, as well.  In fact, I first discovered the mice just a few short hours before we were headed out the door to take Yellowdog (Did I mention that’s our doggy’s name? She’s a yellow lab.) to the Baltimore/WashingtonDC area for her surgery.  At first it was just mice in the basement/garage, and then I spotted some evidence in the house, too.  Needless to say, I’ve been scrubbing every inch of the house (especially the kitchen – it’s never been cleaner, mouse or not) and trying to find all of the mouse “vulnerabilities” so that we can get rid of the unwelcome furry visitors.

Let’s just say that I haven’t been coping with things very well, and in the midst of all of the chaos, I totally forgot to announce the winner of the my giveaway.  I’m finally getting around to it now, though!

The winner of the basket from Ten Thousand Villages that will be filled with a few of my favorite homemade goodies is Chris M with this fun tip for hostess gifts for the holidays…

Mine is making homemade platters of goodies like peanut butter balls, fudge and decorated personalized sugar cookies.

Thanks to everyone for sharing your holiday gift giving tips!

  1. I had one of those weeks last week and can totally sympathize. I am so glad YellowDog is doing well though! Here’s to a great week!

So happy that Yellow Dog came through his surgery well and hoping he has a full recovery. Also hoping that you recover from your long tailed little visitors! It’s that time of year and they are coming in to get out of the cold. Hoping that you can catch all of them and then block off every possible entry way from them.
Stop scrubbing and cleaning everything, they may think it’s the maid service and never leave!
(hoping you have a less stressful week ahead Jen)

  3. i hope yellow dog is doing better!

  4. Oh, those kind of weeks can really take a toll. Take care of you, and it will be better soon.
