Can you believe it’s Friday already? Time has been flying lately, and it’s not slowing down anytime soon! This weekend is our neighborhood’s annual yard sale, and I am having my second bake sale for the Great American Bake Sale, so I’m busy baking and cleaning out the basement. What a fun combo, huh?
So, let’s get to it, shall we? After all, I have a big pile of junk valuables in my basement to organize for the yard sale!
- When my husband and I were first married, I was just learning how to cook, and I frequently made tacos with a seasoning packet. I have since learned a lot, and also become much more aware about the ingredients in the food we eat. So, I’m really excited to try this Homemade Taco Seasoning Mix from Brown Eyed Baker. I think it would make a fun gift, too!
- Speaking of my husband… He is always asking me to make tuna casserole. And, I am always dodging the request (I guess my secret’s out since he’s probably reading this). I just have never really liked it much. I think he will finally get his wish, though, because this Tuna Noodle Casserole with Leeks and Fresh Dill from The Cooking Photographer looks like a casserole that I just might like!
- As I mentioned the other day, I adore rhubarb. So, I am thrilled about this Rhubarb Pâte de Fruit from Sugarcrafter. I can just imagine the burst of flavor! And that gorgeous color? I am in love! I will be making it very, very soon.
- Finally, I have to mention the wonderful Les Petits Chefs series over at eat. live. travel. write. Every week is a new adventure in cooking with kids, and it’s an amazing thing that Mardi is doing! This week, they made Jamie Oliver’s Chicken and Leek Stroganoff, and even got a bit of publicity from Mr. Oliver, himself!
I have to make that rhubarb pate de fruit! It’s so pretty too.
Good luck at your bake sale. Wish I could help you out! It would be fun.

Thanks Jen for the shoutout! I am honoured that you included me and my little chefs!!!
Haha, why don’t you like tuna casserole? Though, I have never really tried it before…maybe you can make a version with all your favorite ingredients! But that recipe sounds awesome, too! Hope both you and your husband enjoy! :)
Thanks for the mention!! You should definitely try the pâte de fruit; it’s so easy and delicious! :-)
