The cooler weather (dare I even say cold weather?) this week has me in the mood to do some fall baking. For some reason, in my mind, I associate fall with baking. I suppose that’s because the fall leads into Thanksgiving and then the Christmas season, and I always step up my baking for the holidays!
I’m sure you can see where this is going. This week’s Friday Favorites revolve around baking. Apparently the rest of the food blogging community must also associate the fall with baking, because there were a lot of really great posts about baking this week. Here are the ones that I can’t wait to make!
- Since we can’t survive on just desserts (OK, maybe we could, but it’s not recommended), this first recipe is a savory dish that can be served for lunch or dinner (most importantly, not dessert). Give this Crostata with Mushrooms and Pancetta from Elizabeth’s Edible a try. I love to make crostatas because they take the pressure off of attempting to make a perfect pie (which I can never do).
- While we’re talking about non-desserts, make sure you check out these Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls from Bakers’ Banter. You probably already know that I love pumpkin. To me, these cinnamon rolls seem like the perfect breakfast.
- Ok, now let’s get to the desserts! First, I have to mention this Chocolate Cinnamon Bundt Cake with Mocha Icing from Honey & Jam. I’m almost afraid to make it because I’m afraid I might eat the entire cake. Be sure to look around and check out all of Hannah’s beautiful photographs, too!
- If you’re like me, cake is a dessert that you serve immediately after dinner. Cookies are dessert that you can eat at any time during the day (including after cake). If you like cookies, you must check out these Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Peanut Butter Cookies from the Guilty Kitchen. Yes, that’s right, oatmeal and chocolate chips and peanut butter all wrapped up into one cookie. Delish!
Great Friday favorites:)
Thanks so much for including me! : ) That Crostata looks AMAZING!
