Friday has arrived… Thank goodness! I started writing this blog post last evening, but I didn’t get far. I had a meeting this morning and lots of email when I got home from my meeting. Now, I am caught up on email, and I am quickly trying to get my blog post done so that I can make dessert for a much needed relaxing evening with friends!
I’ve had a busy blogging week… and I have a few things in the works that you will be hearing about in the weeks to come. I have been trying to dedicate more time to blogging, and writing in general. In the process, I have added quite a few new blogs to my RSS reader. So, this week’s episode of my Friday Favorites highlights a few of my new favorites, in addition to a few of my older favorites that you may already be familiar with.
- This Lemon Layer Cake with Lemon Curd and Mascarpone from Nutmeg Nanny looks absolutely divine. As if the beautiful cake isn’t enough, it’s also a blog post about a wedding shower. Cake and wedding talk are two of my favorite things… Since I’m married already, I’m done with my own wedding planning, so I must live vicariously through others.
- One of my new favorite blogs is Our Best Bites. You may remember the Chocolate Zucchini Bread I mentioned a few weeks back. This week, I was instantly drawn to the Southwest Burgers from Our Best Bites. Chipotle peppers, lime, cilantro, and avocado… Need I say more?
- Evil Shenanigans is one of the blogs that I have been reading ever since I started my blog. Kelly’s recipes are amazing and she always has such beautiful pictures that make my mouth water. Now that the fall is here (or at least, it seems that way here in the Northeast), it’s only appropriate that I mention the Apple Bacon Fritters with Maple Bourbon Glaze from Evil Shenanigans in this week’s favorites. Might have to break the “I don’t fry” rule for these doughnuts.
- Finally, in the spirit of sharing, I have to include this recipe for Pumpkin Spice Lattes from Cleanliness is Next to Godliness. I know how much excitement my tweet about a Pumpkin Spice Frappucino caused last week, so I figured it was only fair that I pass this along for all of you pumpkin spice lovers out there. I will be giving this a try very, very soon.
I literally drooled when I say those apple bacon fritters. haha… Nice selection this week.
Awesome favorites this week! Have a great weekend!
A great list of wonderful dishes. Thank you for helping discover these lovely blogs.
Thank you so much for including me in your favorites! Since I’m not married I live vicariously through my friends too:)
