Who in her right mind would schedule two meetings on a Friday after being on vacation Monday through Thursday? Yup, that would be me! What was I thinking? I am writing this blog post ahead of time since Friday will most likely be a rough day.
I just got home from our second vacation of the summer. We spent most of the week camping (if you can call it that) in cabins up in the mountains with my parents. We spent the week hiking, building campfires, and watching the dogs swim in the lake. It was great to relax, but now it’s back to reality. I may post a few of my campfire cooking pictures over the weekend. Until then, here are my favorite blog posts from this past week (most of which I’ve read in the last few hours as I catch up after being away all week)…
- If you’re looking for some photography tips and trying to avoid another rejection from one of the food porn sites, take a look at this post about F-Stops, Apertures and Depth of Field, oh my! from SoupBelly. It takes me back to my photography class in high school… I needed a refresher!
- I have made bean soup a few times, and my husband always complains that it has no flavor. I am sure that he would have no complaints about this Spicy Red Bean Soup from Evil Shenanigans. I think this sounds perfect for a busy week or a rainy day!
- I have seen quite a few recipes for fried zucchini blossoms this summer. I do not intend to master the art of deep frying, though. I do my best not to make fried food at home – I eat plenty of it when I go out to eat! So, I was thrilled to see these beautiful Stuffed Zucchini Blossoms from Spork or Foon. I’ve got a garden full of zucchini blossoms at the moment and I hope to have a chance to give these a try.
- Last, but certainly not least, is this recipe for General Tso’s Chicken from Tracy’s Culinary Adventures. General Tso’s is my husband’s favorite dish when we order takeout. This looks equally as good, though I am sure it is a much healthier alternative!
Thanks or adding me to this weeks list! I am flattered!
