One of my favorite parts of the day is sitting down at the computer and reading through all of the day’s blog posts in my Google RSS reader. I subscribe to quite a few cooking and kitchen blogs, and the list is always growing. I am always amazed by the creative recipes and ideas that I see on other blogs, and I think they are worth passing along.
So, I have decided to start a Friday Favorites series – Each Friday, I will be writing about my favorite blog posts from the past week. So, without further ado, here are my first official Friday Favorites:
- Avocado is one of my favorite ingredients (you may have noticed that already if you have read some of my previous blog posts!)… Paired with lime and cilantro, it can’t be beat! This Chilled Avocado-Cucumber Soup from 5 Star Foodie looks absolutely delicious. I think it would make a wonderful first course for a fun Mexican dinner – great for entertaining. I am looking for a good excuse to make this one!
- I saw these beautiful Mint Chocolate Chip Cake Truffles from Bake at 350 earlier this morning. I really like the idea of making cake truffles – it is something I haven’t tried… yet! Besides, how can you go wrong with mint and chocolate? Another one of my favorite flavor combos.
- I think it must be spring in the air – but I have been noticing a lot of citrus recipes this week. These Lemon Pancakes with Honey Butter Topping from Bakers’ Banter look delicious. I have recently been on a pancake craze, so I think I will be giving these a try in the next week. I am also inspired to try incorporating other citrus fruits into my pancake recipes. Perhaps something with chocolate and orange – stay tuned.
- Finally, I came across this Baking Personality Quiz from Baking Bites. The original cooking personalities quiz is based on a study by researchers at Cornell University and this one is revised for baking. My baking personality is a combination of A (giving) and E (innovative) – go figure. What’s yours?
